“Prohibition…goes beyond the bounds of reason in that it attempts to control a man’s appetite by legislation and makes a crime out of things that are not crimes. A prohibition law strikes a blow at the very principles upon which our government was founded.”

December 23, 2010
Televangelist Pat Robertson, host of “The 700 Club” shocked the mainstream media
when he stated on his show, “I’m not exactly for the use of drugs, don’t get me wrong,
but I just believe that criminalizing marijuana, criminalizing the possession of a few ounces of pot,
that kind of thing, it’s just, it’s costing us a fortune and it’s ruining young people. Young people go into prisons,
they go in as youths and come out as hardened criminals. That’s not a good thing.” Here is the video -

By Ending Prohibition More Real Crimes Can Be Solved

By ActivistCat       Nov 22, 2010

This is true nationwide, ending prohibition would make a safer nation. All drug crime is a result of it being illegal. That is not to say that some people “under the influence” don’t commit crimes but most crimes committed “under the influence” is done under the influence of alcohol and that is legal. It just tends to make intoxicated people more violent whereas cannabis tends to make people not violent. Driving under the influence of alcohol compared to cannabis is far more dangerous as shown in 2 scientific recent published studies and a third done on British TV. The British TV comparison of driving straight vs. driving on cannabis, the driver actually hit a cone while straight and preformed better after smoking the cannabis. The scientific studies released showed a marked difference between alcohol and cannabis intoxicated drivers and found the cannabis driver to be more careful and drive a bit slower. The alcohol intoxicated drivers drove faster and more aggressive.
That aside, the following fact study is an eye opener. Read Article

The following video "Substance Abuse and Victimization" is from
The National Office for Victims of Crime and The National Victims Assistance Academy,
two government departments. It discusses the relationship between victimization and substance abuse.
As stated in the above article focusing on real crimes and making this a safer nation will cut down the use of drugs
by means of fewer traumatized victims. This government video shows an awareness of it.

A must see : (warning - parts of this video are disturbing, yet every American should know this truth.)

Addiction Specialists Prefer Prohibition and Criminalization to Legalization and Regulation
by Activist Cat

On July 26-28, 2010, a conference was held in Chicago. It was the 4th National Conference on Women, Addiction and Recovery. The conference was held at the Marriott Hotel on Magnificent Mile in downtown Chicago.

Law Enforcement Against Prohibition (LEAP), is an activist group of police, judges, prosecutors, lawyers, former DEA agents, narcotic officers, clergy, and citizens. They believe prohibition is a failed policy and that legalized regulated control is a better option than the current destructive, wasteful non-working policy of prohibition and the war on drugs. For a fee LEAP had a contract that gave them a booth and presence to share their experience and opinions with treatment experts at the convention.  Read Article
